I don't know about the rest of the world, but I'm very tired of seeing Tiger Woods on all the news stations. Yeah, he screwed up. He is/was a "player" and the spotlight was aimed right at him the night he crashed his SUV into that tree in front of his house. Then all the mistresses came out of the woodwork and had their 15 seconds of fame. (Can they please all go back into the woodwork? Especially the stripper that keeps trying to get another 15 seconds!)
Ok, so Tiger is back playing golf. (Big deal! Bah!) Can the news stations please cover him as sports news? I thought that with the Masters was starting up, we'd have some mentions of the guy just because he's a big time golfer. But today, he's big news again... Because of the new Nike commercial. Have you seen it yet? Of course you have, if you've watched any news on TV today. If you haven't seen it yet, here's a YouTube video of it:
So what do you guys think? All the news programs are asking what everyone's opinion of the commercial is... My answer? It's creepy, Tiger looks lame standing there starting at the camera and could they PLEASE get him back on the sports casts and off the headlines?
UPDATE
Interesting... Nike Golf has blocked the ad from showing on YouTube... I wonder why they dislike free advertising? lol... If I find another copy of the ad somewhere that hasn't been blocked, I'll embed it here again....... Sorry!
I was looking around at some of the stuff on my computer and it dawned on me that I hadn't posted the video of this past summer's car wash for Kacie's Ride for Hope on the blog. If I remember right, I had held off posting it until it was posted over on the official website. I guess signals got crossed all over the place.. lol.. It never got onto the official website, and I never managed to get it posted here. So, better late than never, right?
I gave up on YouTube for this video because they kept blocking it due to the music that was chosen to accompany the video. (I guess it's that copyright stuff.) Daily Motion didn't object to the song, so no blocking of the video... Anyway.. Hope you enjoy the video!
The folks are gearing up for this years ride, so if you're interested in participating, now's the time to get on over to the Kacie's Ride for Hope website and get the information about the ride. And about the cause that the ride benefits. The fourth annual ride is scheduled for September 11, 2010. If they do another "Man Bellies & Hairy Backs Car Wash", I'll try to post the date, time and location here on the blog..
The penguin is being pursued by several Orcas, who are circling him for the kill. People on a small boat are filming all the action of the chase. Wait til you see what the penguin does to fix his problem! Thanks to a eBay and Facebook friend, Oda, for showing this video off... I love it!!
Yes, I know the music is annoying to some, but it kind of fits the action! lol...
I'm still around, I just haven't been taking the time to sit here and type.. I am still following the news on the various cases I've posted about in the past as well as watching a few other "new" ones. Right now, however, I'm not going to post about crimes, nor am I going to post about my most recent little trip with my Mom and Stepdad to Monterey, nor any of the other things I've been doing in the last few weeks. I am going to simply post a "music video" that a friend posted a link to on Facebook... The song is created entirely from the normal system sounds in Windows 98 and Windows XP... Check it out!
A friend saw this on a news broadcast earlier tonight and told me about it.. I had to go hunting for it on YouTube so I could see it... Watch this! It's great! LOL!!
Can you imagine walking down the street and seeing this fellow with his pal? I'm sure the regular readers of my blog know I like cats, and I think I've mentioned a while back that I have 2 cats here that "own" me. But my cats have never tried riding around on my head! LOL
I'm still watching the news, both on TV and online. I just haven't found a lot to write about lately. The Casey Anthony case is progressing, both for the murder trial and for the fraud case. Apparently the prosecutors are going to try to push the fraud case ahead of the murder case. The defense for the murder case is saying they won't be ready until some time next year, so why not push the fraud case ahead.. The motions have been filed, so we'll have to wait and see what the judge says. And we'll probably have to listen to Baez whine about how unfair it is for Casey to have to face up to her theft of money from her friend and her grandparents before she has to face the music for Caylee's death.
Someone recently asked about the case against a local man that I posted about months ago, and I've done some looking around and have found absolutely nothing online about the case that is recent. The man I am talking about is Rex Archer. When I went for that drive on Sunday with my Mom and Stepdad on Father's Day, we talked about Rex and the lack of news about the case against him. (Rex Archer was accused and arrested for sexual abuse on two girls. ) There were two postponements of hearings and then suddenly there was no news at all about the case. My folks and I are thinking that Rex has pulled some strings in Yuba County.. After all, he is one of the "good old boys" over there. I'll keep trying to find out what has happened with the case.
Now, about a case that is done with. Sort of. Phil Spector. Apparently there are a few people trolling the net who object to anything being posted that is the least bit unfavorable towards thier idol, Phil Spector. They've decided my blog is a good place to play again. (Similar childishness happened back when I posted the photo of Rachelle Spector playing with a gun during the second trial for Phil.) So, since the children have decided they want to use my blog for their games, I am putting the comment moderation back into effect. If they want to post about how much they love Phil and Rachelle Spector and spread their hate for everyone that doesn't love them, I suggest they start their own blog or message board. I guess they haven't noticed that Phil Spector is only a very minor part of my blog. As the civil cases that Phil Spector is involved in advance, there may be other posts about him on here. If Rachelle Spector does any outrageous things again, there may be other posts about her. The fans of Mr. Spector and his wife need to grow up and realize that their games aren't going to change anyone's minds about his guilt or anything else. Give it a rest, kids... I'm not going to change my mind about Phil Spector. He has been found guilty of murdering Lana Clarkson. And rightly so. He has been sentenced to prison, most likely for the rest of his life. Again, rightly so. If his "fans" don't want to behave themselves in the comments here, the comments won't see the light of day. Period.
After all, this is my blog and since it is my blog, I can post my opinion whenever I want, no matter how popular or unpopular it is. (And I don't have to put up with abuse from people who oppose my views... lol)
My apologies to my regular readers and commenters. Hopefully the children will go find another place to play soon.
I stumbled upon this video while surfing around the internet using the Stumbleupon tool and I just had to share this video that the tool took me to... What I want to know is how they managed to come up with the idea of putting LED lights on sheep and then herding them around! lol...
I know lots of folks look at trucks on the highway as just an obstacle in their way. They are wrong, though... If it weren't for trucks and the people who drive them, there wouldn't be much of anything to call your own.... Because if you have something, more than likely it got to you in the back of a truck.
Anyway, in the news here the last couple of days there has been a story of a trucker that a lot of folks are calling a hero. There is a truckstop near the town of Ripon, California and on Thursday night, one of the trucks in the lot caught on fire. Well, not the whole truck, just the trailer. The trucker didn't just jump out of his truck and run away. He put the truck in gear and drove it out of the parking lot and down a nearby street to an area where it was isolated and the fire was unable to spread.
The Ripon Police Department was dispatched along with the fire department. The first patrol car on the scene had his dash-cam going when he arrived and the video has been on the news this morning. I "grabbed" it and put it on YouTube this morning so I could share it here:
The Modesto Bee has a number of still photos of the aftermath of the truck fire. What a mess, huh? From the angles of the photos, it looks as though only the trailer burned, not the tractor. Lucky for the driver, I would imagine, because that means that all his belongings in the truck are still there.
I also posted the Modesto Bee article on the California Fire News blog this morning.
In my opinion, that trucker is a hero. By staying with his truck and driving it out of the truckstop he prevented a disaster. At night, truckstop parking areas are usually full of trucks parked close together. If that trucker hadn't moved, who knows how many trucks would have burned and who knows what kind of loads would have been destroyed. The hero's name is Randal Jack, and I salute him for keeping his head when he looked out his mirrors and saw the flames.
This missing child case gets more and more strange every day. I hardly know what to say about any of it anymore because so much of what Casey, Cindy and George has said to reporters is so bizarre. Yesterday's big news was the release of the search warrant that was served on the Anthony home the other day. The search warrant was very interesting to read as it gives a very good detailed narrative about what the investigators have had to deal with since little Caylee Marie Anthony was reported missing on July 15th. I have been watching the news about the case pretty much since it started, but had never had a complete detailed story of what Casey had told investigators right after the case was reported. I am amazed at how boldly Casey lied to those investigators. It also came out yesterday that Cindy actually "tampered" with evidence! Apparently there were a pair of Casey's slacks, a pair of boots and a pair of shoes in the back seat area of the car. Cindy took those things out of the car and washed the slacks! She said that she washed them because they "smelled like the car", which in the 911 call she said "smelled like there had beein a dead body in it". Hey, Cindy! What the heck were you thinking? Your granddaughter is missing, the car smells of decomp, and you wash the clothes for your daughter?
Then we have "poor" Casey, sitting there all by herself in jail without her "favorite pillow and cover"... (Daddy George is the one that mentioned her sadness at not having the pillow and blankie.. Oh boy..) Her mother, Cindy, cancelled the scheduled visitation with her earlier this week and this morning, Casey's brother showed up at the jail to visit his sister and Casey refused the visit! Check out the news report below from Fox News:
Just before going in to the jail for what he thought was going to be a visit with his sister, he answered some questions from the media. Here's a video of the report, again, from Fox News:
I guess that Casey's refusal to see her brother, Lee, has angered her Dad, George. I just came across another video on YouTube where the reporter says that George came out of the house, apparently with a bag of trash or something in his hand and he more or less threatened the reporters! This video is also from Fox News:
This whole family seems to be unraveling fast. I have to wonder if the whole family is headed for a massive meltdown. And all because of Casey and her "inability" to tell the truth of what happened to Caylee. Caylee's 3rd birthday is tomorrow, Saturday. The whole family bought into Casey's tale that Caylee is ok and will be home for her birthday party and it's looking like they are finally starting to see the lies. And to realize that the chances of Caylee celebrating her birthday with them are pretty bleak. I have to wonder what else is going to happen today. Do we get more from Grandma Cindy? Will we have more from George? Or even Lee? These folks are getting scary....
Update: George's Rant I have a copy of the video of George Anthony's rant that I grabbed from Channel 6 but it's in the wrong format for uploading to YouTube. I'm going to see if I can find a way of converting it and then I'll add it to the blog... But, you can watch it on the Channel 6 link here.. Or on the Channel 9 link here.
Cindy Anthony decided to rant at the vigil for Caylee last night. I saw a bit of it late last night on Geraldo or one of the other news shows and was shocked that the grandmother of this missing little girl would go "off" the way she did.
I finally found a video of the interviews and stuff about the vigil last night on the Central Florida Channel 13 website. The article they wrote up, titled "Cindy Anthony Uses Choice Words At Vigil" gives a bit of the background of why she went "off". According to the article on their website, the thing that "upset" Cindy was a supposed call from "someone saying that someone called her to say that a 911 dispatcher in Pennsylvania told a caller that Caylee was dead." Here's what else Cindy had to say:
"I'm telling everybody, get off your a** and look for my granddaughter. I don't care if this is on the news or what, but she is out there. She’s out there and God knows what I'm talking about," said the toddler’s grandmother.
Uhm.. Excuse me, lady! I know you're under a lot of stress because your granddaughter is missing. And I know you're under a lot of stress because you and the rest of your family are busy running around trying to cover for yours and Casey's lies. But! I think before you start screaming that everyone should get off their asses and go look for your grandchild, you should try telling the truth and give us a timeline! A truthful timeline! How the hell are we or anyone supposed to look for a child when no one knows when she was last seen, where she was last seen, what she was wearing or anything else? Yes, I know you just want to protect your precious daughter, Casey. But face it, lady! Your daughter is lying and has been lying for a very long time! If you truly want to know where Caylee is, ask Casey! Or maybe ask your "God" where the child is. According to you, He knows what you're talking about!
Here's the Channel 13 report:
What do you folks think? Does Cindy's yelling that we should "get off our asses" and go look for that child make you mad? It sure made me mad!
Oh, and by the way, George... All of those photos of Casey partying weren't from before Caylee disappeared. The ones of her in the blue dress at the "Hot Body" contest at Fusion were from the 20th according to the photographers who took the pics.... And, another thing George. If all those pictures were from before Caylee was born, why the hell is Casey drinking? She's 22, right? Caylee is almost 3, right? Isn't the legal drinking age in Florida 21? What a find upstanding "little girl" you have...
I watched this "interview" of George Anthony this morning. If you haven't been watching the news and don't know who he is, he's the grandfather of the almost 3 year old little girl, Caylee Anthony, who's been missing from Orlando, FL since sometime in June. The only one who knows for sure when the child disappeared is her 22 year old mother, Casey, who is in jail and isn't talking. Her grandmother, Cindy, has floated a few dates around, but no one really knows for sure except the jailed "mom". Anyway, here's the "interview" with George:
One of the things that bothers me about this "interview" is how George talks about the "pizza experiment". Here's the background on the pizza thing. Sometime in June, Casey abandoned a car, supposedly a car she "borrowed" from her parents, in the parking lot of a check cashing place there in Orlando, Florida. After a few days of the car sitting there, the owner of the lot/shopping center had it towed away. After another few days, the grandparents received a letter from the tow company/impound lot telling them that they can come pick up the car. (After paying the tow and impound fees, of course.) Anyway, apparently George and Cindy managed to get the car back from the impound lot on the same day that George and their son Lee went and picked the car up. In the 911 tapes that were released to the media, the first call is fairly calm, which seems odd to me since the missing child is more or less mentioned almost as an afterthought. The second call is the one that mentions the smell in the car. Cindy tearfully in a panicked sort of voice tells the 911 operator that Caylee had been missing for a month and that they had "just found the car" and that it smelled like there had been a "dead body in the damn car".
In later interviews, Cindy backed off the "dead body in the car" statement and started saying that the smell was from a pizza that had been in the car for 12 days, then 19 days and then 15 days. Uhm. No, Cindy. 12 day old, 15 day old or 19 day old pizza does not smell like a dead body. And now, with George's interview today, he's saying that the pizza has to be in a small trash bag and there has to be some Arm & Hammer dry detergent in a box in the bag with it. Hello! Arm & Hammer plus pizza would not equal a dead body smell! Get a clue, Anthony family! The lies are going to come back and bite you folks in the butt!!!
Another thing that bothered me about the "interview" with George today is his plea for money. He says its going to be for flyers, billboards and the like. Oh yeah, and a trust fund for Caylee. Excuse me, a trust fund for the missing child who is most likely dead? After all the lies that Casey, Cindy and Lee are blabbing to the media, they expect the world to open up their wallets and give them money? How gullible do they think everyone is? Apparently they think we're extremely gullible.
And another thing about George (And Lee!) that is odd. On the "Caylee is Missing" MySpace page, George and Lee advertised for "personal assistants". Volunteer personal assistants! Here's their "ads":

Hmm... "24 hour, on-call daily" personal assistant? What the heck? Are they going to have these "volunteer personal assistants" doing errands in the middle of the night or something? I have to wonder if they've gotten many applicants. I know I sure wouldn't "volunteer" for something like that from a family that seems to have no problem at all lying to everyone! (By the way, I x'd out the phone numbers and removed the email addresses. If anyone is gullible enough to fall for the lies from this family, they can go to the MySpace page and "apply" for the jobs.. I'm not advertising them! LOL)
I'll be posting updates on the fires in the morning, but for now, I'm posting a cute animated movie... I love the Simon's Cat videos on YouTube.. lol..
Anyway, the number of active fires all over the state have gone down to 38 according to the Cal Fire website! Fantastic news, isn't it? I'll grab all the stats in the morning and get them posted. (I sure hope no one was here specifically looking for fire updates today! Sorry about that!)
The InSessions message board came back up sometime this afternoon (I'm not quite sure what time it happened.. lol) and there has been a bit of new news posted there about a couple of the cases I've been watching, so tomorrow I'll see about adding that news into the blog as well.
Last night, I found a video on YouTube that is pretty scary. Here's the description of the video from the person who uploaded it to YouTube:
Added: August 20, 2007 On August 13th, 2007, the Cascade Complex wildfires - in Central Idaho - overran a fire camp where several hundred firefighters and support personnel were camped. The fire's arrival was not a surprise, the fire that threatened the camp had been burning with similar intensity in similar fuel types for over 2 weeks before this incident occurred.
This video was shot by Alex Park, and later sent anonymously to fusee.org.
Pretty terrifying, isn't it?
I'm going to be "out and about" today with a friend who is on his way up from Sacramento. So I'm going to miss posting the Cal Fire updates until later on. The sky is actually blue when I look up again today, with a few puffy little clouds. I'm sure the heat will burn the clouds off soon, but to me, that means the weather is improving for the firefighters. Hopefully they will make some more good progress and beat down those last 15 in the state statistics and then go on to reduce the numbers for the statewide number of fires. It's going down too.. 288 last night, and hopefully the next briefing will show a reduction in those numbers as well. They've got over 21,000 people out there fighting these fires. Please send your good thoughts to them and pray that no harm comes to them.
A lot of bloggers are talking about the latest "viral video" that shows an office worker in the midst of a meltdown. I stumbled onto it on the ABC News site, in their video section; "Office Freak Out: Real or Fake?". (I sure hope that the link works.. it sometimes takes me to other videos on the ABC site.. For instance, I got one about some elephants that freaked out when the tornado sirens sounded. lol) That led me to search Youtube and I found the following video set to music:
Second angle from a cell phone:
Best detective work on figuring out if the video is real:
Today, a new online video scandalous - Record with surveillance cameras in one of the metropolitan office. At the black-and-white screen can be seen as a man who sits outside his table, suited man, after several seconds of conversation vskakivaet first, and begins to offset the premises.
First - launched a monitor in a woman, then became destroy everything. At the same time nobody tried to stop it, despite the fact that in the room was full of men.
Only when the guard intervened, who twice "vrazumil" elektroshokerom young man, managed to stop the madness. In LJ said that incident occurred in the office of the advertising edition "Yellow Pages". The reason buystva young man - the failure of a vital earned commissions.
Podoshedshy man named Igor cattiness joked - Pier was thought to rest in Thailand, and now poedesh in Crimea. That was the last drop.
LJ - mostly community understands and sympathizes clerk to derail him - monotonic work in any office can bring to this.
A lot of people are saying in the comments for the videos on Youtube and elsewhere that incident is "faked", but if you watch videos anywhere on the internet, you see lots of those comments. Apparently this one seems to be real. As far as I can tell at this point....
Having worked for an architectural firm and been to numerous construction job sites, I have seen a lot of equipment arriving and departing. I have never seen a piece of equipment being loaded onto a truck like this one! I have to admit, the guy on this Bobcat is pretty talented! lol.. I couldn't resist posting it...
I found an unusual video this morning. I doubt if you'd see a wild fox "playing" on a trampoline very often. The copy of it on YouTube was uploaded about 2 years ago, but I'd never seen it until this morning. He (or she!) looks like it's enjoying that bouncy place very much! lol...
On to other stuff, the cherries that I posted about on Sunday are about half gone now. The birds have found the tree and are having a ball stealing the cherries. My cats seem to enjoy watching the birds in that tree.. They will sit on a table that is near the back fence where the tree is and just watch the birds fly through. Of course, the birds seem to enjoy dive bombing my cats too. My next door neighbor's girlfriend had a good time with a ladder and a huge zip lock bag next to the fence. She's taking a gallon or so of the cherries to her daughter's when she goes for a visit later today. And, yes, I've been picking them too. They're yummy!
Speaking of "dive bombing" birds. Yesterday I was watching my 4 year old grandson blowing bubbles in the front yard and a pair of humming birds actually dive bombed him! I wish I'd had my camera with me because the look on my grandson's face was priceless! I have no clue why the birds did it. I don't think we were near a nest or anything! Maybe they were just trying to communicate to us that it was time to refill the humming bird feeders?
Today is May 7th. That means 9 more days until Mario Lozano finds out how long he gets to stay in prison for killing Kacie Barron.
Kacie's Ride for Hope is on for this year. The ride will be September 13th this year and the flyer is Here. (It's a pdf file, so it may take a moment or two to load.) Kacie's brother Pat has a page up about this year's ride: Kacie's Ride For Hope 2008. The web page says they are gearing up for this year's ride, looking for donations of cash or raffle prizes. Last year's ride enabled Pat and the rest of the supporters to donate $7,525.00 to the El Dorado Women's Center in Kacie's memory! They're hoping to top that amount this year. I hope they do it! They've also added a page of pictures from last year's ride; 2007 Kacie's Ride Photos. I spotted my brother in one of the shots! lol...
I found a website this morning that puts a new video up every monday... Or so it says on the site. It's Uncle Jay Explains and the videos he produces on this site are funny explanations of things like blogs (From Sept. 24th last year);
Or the recesses that Congress takes (From Sept. 3rd last year);
And here's the video he added today that explains the current news... With mentions of the presidential candidates appearing on WWE Raw and the candidate's spouses appearing on various programs... Err.. Except for Clinton... lol (This one is dated today.)
I've been sitting here watching a few of his videos while I drink my coffee. Of course I have to be careful of when I take a drink because I really, really, don't want to have to clean the coffee off my monitor or keyboard... So, put your coffee or tea or soda down and watch one of the videos... I wouldn't want you to have to clean your monitor or keyboard off either! lol
I know the video isn't "new", but I just found a link to it on a message board and couldn't resist sharing it here... Definitely not what you normally see on the Cops shows..
You'll never know what kind of posts I'll be putting on here. Some will be fun things that I find around the internet, some will be reports of crimes or trials and some will be things about my family, my friends, my travels or my photography. Hence the name;
"Anakerie's Random Thoughts". I've also invited my brother to add posts to the blog as well.
I've been retired since 2005 and live with my 2 cats in a little tiny town in Northern California.
The job I retired from was CAD drafter and project manager for an architectural firm that designed and built commercial and educational buildings. I've had a lot of jobs over the years, including working as a photographer and driving trucks. Seen a lot of stuff and still want to see more.
