So Tired of Tiger

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I'm very tired of seeing Tiger Woods on all the news stations. Yeah, he screwed up.  He is/was a "player" and the spotlight was aimed right at him the night he crashed his SUV into that tree in front of his house.  Then all the mistresses came out of the woodwork and had their 15 seconds of fame. (Can they please all go back into the woodwork?  Especially the stripper that keeps trying to get another 15 seconds!)

Ok, so Tiger is back playing golf. (Big deal! Bah!)  Can the news stations please cover him as sports news?  I thought that with the Masters was starting up, we'd have some mentions of the guy just because he's a big time golfer.  But today, he's big news again... Because of the new Nike commercial.  Have you seen it yet?  Of course you have, if you've watched any news on TV today.  If you haven't seen it yet, here's a YouTube video of it:

So what do you guys think?  All the news programs are asking what everyone's opinion of the commercial is... My answer?  It's creepy, Tiger looks lame standing there starting at the camera and could they PLEASE get him back on the sports casts and off the headlines?

UPDATE
Interesting... Nike Golf has blocked the ad from showing on YouTube... I wonder why they dislike free advertising? lol... If I find another copy of the ad somewhere that hasn't been blocked, I'll embed it here again....... Sorry!

An Angry Groundhog and Other News

A friend sent me a link to a news item in a New Jersey newspaper that caught her eye. Would you believe a groundhog that attacked a man in his garage and then went on to go after two cops? Here is what the article had to say about the groundhog:
Police Sgt. Mike Danyo and Officer Paul Ryan on Thursday encountered a different type of aggressive behavior. The pair found themselves pitted against an angry groundhog at an Oak Street home.

The resident, Alex Scott, told police he had attempted to leave his house at 11:46 a.m. and entered his garage to get his truck when the groundhog began to chase him. Scott, who kicked the animal several times but was unable to evade it, ran back into his house and called police.

When Danyo and Ryan arrived and Scott attempted to show them where the groundhog was, the rodent sprang toward the officers, Cacciabeve said.

Danyo tripped and fell as the groundhog pursued him, Cacciabeve said. But Ryan, who jumped out of the way as the groundhog charged at his feet, discharged the pepper spray into the rodent's face, Cacciabeve said.

The spray disoriented the groundhog and allowed Ryan to retrieve a snare from the back of the patrol car, said Cacciabeve, who had responded to assist.

The officers snared the groundhog and held it until assistant animal control officer Sandy Burkhardt arrived to cage it. The animal was later euthanized and its remains will be shipped today to the Department of Health and Senior Services for rabies testing.
Click "HERE" to see the entire article, including the part about a thieving black bear who raided someone's garage and freezer for his dinner... I can't imagine being chased by one of these little critters. But then I suppose they can be just as bad as the possums who hang out on the property next to where I live and come wandering over here looking for food every evening. They have a really nasty bite if you get them cornered or angry at you. I've never been bitten, but I've sure had them hiss at me when I've gone outside and suprised one of them in my yard in the evening. Right now, my daughter and her husband (who live across the street from me) are trying to clear a family of possums out from under their house. They've trapped two yesterday and they think there are at least 2 more under there. I haven't talked to them this morning to see if they caught any more last night.

Other News
The local newspaper hasn't done any updates about last week's bank robbery, the robbers in custody or the one that they said was still on the run. I checked the jail website this morning and the two in custody are apparently still there and are still under a "no bail" condition.

The other story I wrote about in my previous post, the dead man that was found in the apartment in the neighboring town, had a followup article that said that an autopsy was going to happen yesterday, but nothing further in the paper today. I'm guessing the coroner will have to do a tox screen and other tests to determine the cause of death.

This morning's "breaking news" on the paper's website was about an accident last night where a truck drifted off the road and collided with two mobile homes in a trailer park north of Marysville. Fortunately, none of the residents of the home were seriously injured, but the driver of the big rig died at the scene because he was thrown from the truck. The California Highway Patrol are investigating the accident and are asking that anyone who witnessed the accident to call. Perhaps the man either fell asleep or had a medical problem before the truck drifted off the highway. I don't know, but I hope that the paper will say something when the investigation is finished. I have a feeling though, that this will be another of the stories that just go "poof" and we never hear about again. My condolences go out to the family and friends of the driver, Michael J. Angerer from Red Bluff, CA.

~~~~
Geez... I just looked at the front page of the paper's website and there is another "Breaking News" story... This time about a person that was found dead this morning in a vehicle pulled from a canal east of Gridley. The story says that a witness reported the submerged car a little after 6 am this morning. Crews from Cal Fire and Butte County Fire Department joined the search for the vehicle, which a tow truck pulled from the canal shortly after 8:20 a.m. A second person had been inside the vehicle but managed to escape, according to a CHP officer. How the car went off the road was not immediately clear and I'm wondering where that second person went. Was he the "witness" that called the emergency in?
UPDATE: Dead Body Story
The paper just posted an update to the story of the decomposed body that was found in an apartment in Linda, Calif. The state Department of Justice positively identified the decomposed body through fingerprints and the deceased man is Scott Dana Malmstrom and he was a victim of a homicide. The results of the autopsy showed Malmstrom was stabbed to death with a sharp instrument. Investigators are still going through evidence found at the scene and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
Sandra Cantu Case: Defense Drops Bid to Exhume Sandra's Body
(04-21) 14:37 PDT TRACY -- The attorney for murder suspect Melissa Huckaby is no longer seeking to exhume the body of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu from a Tracy mausoleum in order to conduct independent tests to determine whether she was raped, San Joaquin County's public defender said today.
The defense will withdraw its request, which Huckaby's attorney made to a judge Thursday just a day after Sandra was laid to rest, Public Defender Peter Fox said.
He said the deputy public defender handling the case, Sam Behar, learned this morning from the county's chief medical examiner, Bennett Omalu, that "the relevant samples were preserved" and had not been interred.
"It will not be necessary to disturb the child's remains," Fox said in an interview. "From a human point of view, certainly it's nice not to have to do that."
Huckaby, a 28-year-old Sunday school teacher who is the mother of one of Sandra's playmates in a Tracy mobile home park, was arrested April 10 and charged with her murder. Prosecutors alleged that the murder was accompanied by special circumstances, including rape, that would make Huckaby eligible for the death penalty if convicted.
Sandra was last seen near her home March 27. Her body was found in a suitcase April 6 in a dairy farm's irrigation pond 2 miles from the mobile home park.
The defense was concerned that prosecutors were basing the rape allegation solely on the findings of the medical examiner's autopsy. Fox said his office has not been given the autopsy results or any other evidence in the case, including recordings or transcripts from a long interview Huckaby gave to police before her arrest.
In his motion to exhume Sandra's body, Behar wrote that a second autopsy, which would have been conducted by a forensic pathologist hired by the defense, was "extremely crucial and material to Ms. Huckaby's defense."
The defense team, Behar wrote, "should be allowed to examine Ms. Cantu's body to discern alternative explanation for the assigned coroner's observation of alleged genital trauma, so that Ms. Huckaby can defend herself against those allegations."
Now, Fox said, Behar has learned that tissue samples will be available for testing by the defense pathologist.
The county medical examiner has not released Sandra's cause of death or the results of toxicology tests.
Angie Chavez, Sandra's aunt, said today that the family did not wish to comment on the withdrawal of the defense motion.
I don't know about the rest of you, but this is great news. In reading a lot of the articles and the comments about those articles, I know a lot of people were up in arms over the possibility of the defense taking Sandra's body from her resting place at the Tracy Mausoleum. This must also ease the minds of her family to know that a 2nd autopsy doesn't have to be done.
There has to be so much more information about this case that the investigators and the prosecutors are holding close. We get bits of information from here and there and I have to wonder how much of it is truth and how much of it is speculation or just plain errors on the parts of the different reporters who are covering this case.
I've been watching TV off and on today and the latest uproar is over another incident that happened in January. Another child in the same mobile home park where Sandra's family and the Huckaby families live was reportly missing for a few hours. From what the reports are saying, Melissa Huckaby took that child to a park, either with or without the knowledge of the child's family (Depending on which report you read.). Sometime during the time Melissa had the child at a park (No clue what park or even if they did go to a "park".) the child's mother returned home and discovered her 7 year old daughter was not there. It was apparently reported to the police, but Melissa returned the child to the family's home either while the police were there or shortly before the police got there or shortly after the police left. (Again, it depends on which report you read!) The child's older sister has told reporters that when her little sister arrived home she was very disoriented, dizzy, slurring her speech and falling down. The family took the child to the hospital and lab tests revealed that she had benzodiazepines in her blood.
I googled benzodiazepines and found an interesting definition of them on the University of Maryland's website.
Benzodiazepines are among the most commonly prescribed depressant medications in the United States today. More than 15 different types of benzodiazepine medications exist to treat a wide array of both psychological and physical maladies based on dosage and implications. To be characterized as such, each benzodiazepine displays one or more of the following drug actions: anxiety relief, hypnotic, muscle relaxant, anti-convulsant, or an amnesiatic (mild memory-loss inducer). Due to their sedative properties, benzodiazepines have a high potential for abuse, especially when used with other depressants such as alcohol or opiates. Benzodiazepines are classified as Schedule IV in the Controlled Substances Act.
Commonly prescribed benzodiazepines include Xanax© (alprazolam), Librium© (chlordiazepoxide), Valium© (diazepam), and Ativan© (lorazepam). Another benzodiazepine that has been the focus of a great deal of media attention is flunitrazepam, trade name Rohypnol©, which is known widely as "the date-rape drug" due to its involvement in many sexual assault cases in recent years.
I don't know about the rest of you, but that last sentence really bothers me.............
Celebration of Life for Sandra Cantu
I didn't make the drive down to Tracy today for the memorial service.. But a few thousand others did show up at the high school in Tracy to say good by to "Tracy's Angel", Sandra Cantu. From what I've read on the news sites, people started lining up at the doors of the gymnasium at 6:30am this morning. I stayed home and watched the memorial on my TV. When they started playing the song "Somewhere out there", I had tears running down my cheek. That song has always choked me up a bit but today it wasn't just a bit. I cried for that beautiful little girl with the big smile. My heart goes out to all of Sandra's family and friends in this time of terrible grief.
Channel 10 in Sacramento has posted a video of the entire service. I tried embedding it to the page, but it doesn't work like the YouTube ones. It begins playing automatically. So, I've removed the embedded video and left the link.
Channel 30
(I'm not quite sure where they are) also has video up showing the service.
I can only hope that the authorities can put her murderer away for the rest of her life. The community of Tracy and all those who's hearts broke the day they found that suitcase need to have justice. Sandra's family need justice. And that is all I'm going to say... Today.
Rest in Peace, little angel...
Sandra Cantu Laid to Rest Today
Sandra Cantu buried today during private service
by Jennifer Wadsworth
Family, friends and city leaders gathered for a private burial today for slain 8-year-old Tracy girl Sandra Cantu.
A horse-drawn carriage brought her tiny body from Fry Memorial Chapel to the Tracy Mausoleum shortly after noon today.
Sandra’s mother was “like a rock” during the service, said Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman after the burial. TV news crews gathered outside the cemetery grounds to film as much of the service as they could from a distance.
A few dozen people attended, including several police officers who last week arrested a 28-year-old Sunday school teacher on suspicion of killing the little girl.
Melissa Chantel Huckaby was arraigned Tuesday on charges that she kidnapped, raped and then murdered Sandra on March 27.
Sandra lived in the same mobile home park as Huckaby with her mother, three older siblings and her grandparents. Surveillance footage that captures the girl’s last moments alive shows her skipping playfully toward Huckaby’s house, five doors away from her own home.
It was the last anyone ever saw of her, before her body was found 10 days later stuffed in a suitcase someone dumped in a manure-filled pond on a north Tracy dairy.
“She became an angel to the community,” said Tracy Unified School District Superintendent James Franco of Sandra, a Jacobsen Elementary School second-grader.
Her disappearance drew hundreds of volunteer searchers and nearly 20 agencies on the case. Photos of the blonde-haired brown-eyed girl were plastered on utility poles, car windows and bulletin boards all over Northern California.
It became a familiar face, especially to Tracy.
The national interest in her search brought and the sordid fascination sparked by recent charges against Huckaby of murder and rape likely mean a crowd of thousands will show up for her public memorial service on Thursday.
Organizers have prepared for as many as 8,000 guests, but there’s only enough parking for 500 cars.
The public service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the West High School gym, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.
For information, call the memorial chapel at 836-1970
I don't often post whole articles on this blog, but this case just plain sucks my brain dry of rational things to say. Earlier on TV, I watched as they first played the video of Sandra skipping across the street looking like just what she was; a carefree child. Then they played a video of that horse drawn hearse carrying the child's body to her final resting place. To see both those videos one right after another brings home the tragedy and the anger towards the murderer who stole this beautiful child's future and life.
For the past week, I've considered driving down to Tracy tomorrow for the public memorial service for Sanda. I've gone back and forth a number of times already and probably will change my mind a few more times before tomorrow. I don't know if I can do it. Tomorrow will tell. I'll have to wait and see what I'm feeling in the morning.
One feeling that will not change though; I want this beautiful little girl's murderer brought to justice. And I know I'm not alone.
My deepest condolences to Sandra's family and friends. Sandra's memory will stay alive in a lot of people's hearts.................. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Stuff in the News ~ Local and Otherwise
I know I haven't been blogging a whole lot lately... But it's hard to keep blogging about the same things all the time without constantly repeating myself. Casey Anthony is still in jail awaiting trial for murdering her daughter, Caylee in Orlando, Florida. Phil Spector is still on trial (retrial) for murdering Lana Clarkson in Los Angeles, California. Drew Peterson is still out and about shopping for a new wife while his 4th wife, Stacy Peterson is still missing and presumed dead. So, this morning, I'll do some minor updates and opinions on the above cases before moving on to some other things that have been in the local papers.
Casey Anthony; It's her birthday today. I'll bet she's really feeling the loss of her freedom today having to "celebrate" her birthday alone behind bars. On her menu for the day was a nice breakfast of a cup of oatmeal, gravy and potatoes and and a lovely dinner of smoked sausage, rice and mixed vegetable. Oh yeah, she might have either a cookie or a small piece of cake since that is what is already on the menu at the Orange County Jail. No partying at the Fusion Lounge or getting drunk with friends for her birthday this year. From what most of the news sources are saying, her family aren't even scheduled to visit her today. There are lots of rumors around the web about the "missing" pages of Casey's diary having been "found", including Nancy Grace mentioning it on her show last night. I haven't seen anything substantial in the way of confirmation of the existence of the missing pages yet. I'd love to see them and see if they, in any way, resemble the diary page that I posted about before.
Phil Spector; The main stream media still only occasionally report anything about the retrial. But, both the prosecution and the defense have rested and the closing arguments are scheduled for next week. This week, they are reportedly finalizing the jury instructions and going through the evidence, deciding what can go into the jury room and what can't. It's kind of ironic that the case will go to the jury next week. When the first trial got to the closings and the jury got the case, I was away from my computer for a month, driving my Mom and Stepdad up to the Seattle area and then back south visiting friends and family. This time, we have closings coming up and I'm going to be leaving on another trip, this time driving my Mom and Stepdad to Southern California. At least this time I will have a computer with me so I can keep checking in with news sites and blogs to see if a verdict has been reached. I hope that there will be cameras in the courtroom for the verdict!
Drew Peterson; He's been in the news again recently because his step-brother, Tom Morphey, has been speaking out about the day that Stacey disappeared. Tom Morphey says that Drew asked him "How much do you love me? Enough to kill for me?" Morphey is also talking about renting a storage locker for Drew and talkng more about helping Drew move that blue barrel from the bedroom of the Peterson home down to the back of Drew's SUV. Of course Drew is denying everything that Mr. Morphey is saying. Oh yeah... And Drew is planning a wedding for his 5th marriage. Ugh.. That woman is out of her mind!
Local News
One of the local stories that the area news media are making a "big deal' out of is the closure of a run-down trailer park in the county to the east of me, Yuba County. Apparently the owners of the park gave up on fixing all the problems in the park quite a while back, let it go into foreclosure, then went into bankruptcy over a year ago. The people still living in the park stopped paying rent a year ago, but stayed put. In other words, they've been living there for free for a year, only having to pay for their utilities. So when the county shut the place down yesterday the 11 or 12 families still living there began crying about how they have no place to live now and no way to move to another place. I understand about being "broke" and having a hard time getting into a new place to live, but for crying out loud, these people have been living there rent free for a year! I guess none of them thought about putting some of their rent money aside for the time that they would have to either start paying rent again or have to move into another home. So now, the tax payers get to foot the bill for these people who thought they could live there for free forever. The county is paying for hotel rooms for these people! The videos I've seen on TV and on websites show a really rundown trailer park, the common buildings are dilapidated, vandalized and dangerous looking, and the individual trailer lots look almost as bad. The county is planning on leveling the place. It needs it.
~
Another story in yesterday's local paper had me scratching my head and wondering "What the heck??". A man in the town of Arbuckle had a nasty habit of standing in his front window exposing and fondling himself every Wednesday for the last several weeks. The sheriff's department received quite a few complaints from neighbors but had never gotten proof of what the guy was doing. Finally, the sheriff's department stationed an undercover officer near the man's house yesterday. And yep, it was Wednesday. And yep, the officer saw the guy do his "thing" in front of his window. And yep, the guy is under arrest. No one has figured out why the guy only did his thing on Wednesdays. And the guy, Andrew Sweet, isn't answering any questions from the authorities... Weird!
"Otherwise"
In the South Pacific, a new island is being born near Tonga. Tonga is part of the ''ring of fire,” an arc of earthquake and volcanic zones in the Pacific. The Associated Press has a spectacular raw video of the eruption. Check it out:
I don't know about the rest of you, but volcanos fascinate me. They are spectacular and tangible proof to me that our Earth is still "alive".....
Update on the Highway 166 Accident & Yesterday's Rant
The investigators have released name of the truck driver who died in that horrible accident Friday night. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Ricardo Zamora of Bakersfield.Mr. Zamora died when his rig caught on fire. The authorities had to use dental records to identify the poor man. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
And the "impatient" idiot of a man who caused the tragedy passed away yesterday. A CHP spokesman says 41-year-old Wayne Delangie of Santa Maria passed away at Cottage Hospital in Santa Maria Sunday night. Delangie's family says he is an organ donor and that his body is being kept on life support until the organ donation process is complete.
So now there are two families who've lost someone due to the impatience of one man. One man who just had to get in front of a couple of trucks. One man who was in such a hurry to get where he was going that he did something incredibly stupid. He tried to pass those trucks on a right-hand curve with a double yellow line. He failed. Spectacularly. Tragically.
If any of my readers out there get out on the highway and end up behind a truck that is going slower than you, please don't get impatient and pass unsafely. I don't care how big of a hurry you think you are, wait for a safe area to pass. A passing lane. A long straight stretch of road with no oncoming traffic. Trucks go slower than cars by law. Especially here in California. The maximum a truck is allowed is 55 miles per hour. Even on the highways where cars are allowed to go faster, those trucks are not allowed to go faster than 55.
Be safe out there folks. I don't want to have to read more reports of tragic accidents caused by impatient drivers.
Another Rant about "Impatient Drivers"
Last year in May I posted a rant about impatient drivers (Look here for the post.) and this morning, I'm going to do it again. Yesterday morning, I read about a bad accident on highway 166 down near San Luis Obispo/Santa Maria involving two big rigs (according to the original article) that happened Friday evening. There weren't many details yesterday, but this morning the San Luis Obispo newspaper has another article on their web site about the accident which gives a lot more details. Another article on the KSBY Channel 6 web site gives even more. The accident was caused by an impatient driver trying to pass a couple of trucks.
hiway166accidentAccording to the articles, a man from Santa Maria (who's identity hasn't been disclosed) in a F-150 pickup crossed a double yellow line and attempted to pass two big rigs. When he pulled out into the opposing (westbound) lane, he sideswiped a Honda being driven by a woman from Bakersfield, then sideswiped another pickup truck (A Chevy) driven by a man from Bakersfield. He then hit another big rig head on. That rig went on into the eastbound lane and crashed into another big rig, causing it to roll over. Then both rigs caught on fire. The pickup then hit another eastbound big rig, then sideswiped another westbound car (A Saturn) driven by another woman from Bakersfield.
The driver of the rig that was hit head on died, either in the initial crash or in the fire. That driver could not be identified yet. The driver of the rig that rolled over luckily only suffered minor injuries. The woman in the Honda also suffered minor injuries and the man in the other pickup, the man in the 3rd big rig and the woman in the Saturn were truly lucky, they weren't injured at all. The impatient man is in the hospital with "major" injuries. The accident scene covered over 2,000 feet of the highway and the wreckage, cleanup and investigation had the highway closed for nearly a full day.
hiway166accident-F150One idiot who thought he was going to get where he was going just a little sooner by passing a couple trucks on a curve with double yellow lines didn't get where he was going that night. He got a trip to the hospital and probably will have a long convalescence from his injuries. He killed a man. He injured two other people. He wrecked 7 vehicles, including his own. (I think the photo to the left is the F150, or what's left of it.) His impatience and stupidity closed a highway for a day, causing other drivers to take long detours in order to get from one side of the coastal range to the other.
Amazingly, or maybe it's not that amazing, the first comment below the article in the San Luis Obispo paper blames the trucks for the accidents.
"croberts wrote on 03/07/2009 08:31:05 PM:
To repeat: As a regular 'user' of 166 I can say without hesitation that 166 is unsafe due to overuse by large truck/trailer combos. This should NOT be allowed as a 'truck-route', used by commercial and semi-tractor trailer rigs looking for the sort-cut to I-5/99. The combination of hills, curves, one-lane each way, bad passing areas, motor-homes, pickups towing trailers, U-Hauls, and autos driven by the unskilled and impatient result in deadly accidents. Add to the mix an obvious lack of law enforcement. (Never seen a Chippy)."
As I look at a Google map showing the highway this accident happened on, I see that Highway 166 isn't a "shortcut". I see that it is the most direct route between Santa Maria and Bakersfield. Perhaps this guy who wrote this comment is one of those guys who do stupid things to get around trucks? Blame it all on the trucks... Sheesh!
Suspect Arrested in Brianna Dennison Murder!
Finally! There has finally been an arrest in the Brianna Denison case! According to the Reno Gazette Journal, investigators have a man in custody.
Reno police on Tuesday arrested a Sparks man in connection with the slaying of Brianna Denison, ending a 10-month hunt for the man who abducted the 19-year-old Reno High School graduate from a friend's home in January.
James Biela was booked into the Washoe County Jail on charges of murder, kidnapping in the first degree and sexual assault but could not confirm he is the suspect in the Denison case.
Reno police took a DNA sample from the suspect and said it would take 12 hours to process.
Police spokesman Steve Frady issued a one-sentence news release announcing a news conference at 10:30 a.m. today. He would not say whether the suspect was arrested in Reno or elsewhere.
I found out about the arrest earlier today when I visited California Fire News and saw the post that Bob had put up about it. Check into his entry because it looks like he is updating the information as it comes out. The story isn't exactly an "on topic" post for the Fire news blog, but Bob had followed the story of Brianna's murder closely and has put several posts in the blog about the case.
As he said in the comments section of his post today... "What a great Thanksgiving gift to the world!" Brianna's family definitely has something to be thankful for tomorrow. Her murderer is in custody, finally. Anyway, I'm off to read some more news... If I don't manage to post again today, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Update:
The Reno Gazette Journal has a blog about the case that they are updating periodically. Check it out Here.
The Anthony Circus - Minus One Player
It just hit the news that Mark Nejame is resigning as counsel for George and Cindy Anthony. Here's the text of his press release:
Unfortunately, I have made the decision that it is best not to continue my representation of George and Cindy Anthony.
George and Cindy have a belief that their beloved granddaughter, Caylee, is still alive. Tips and leads continue to come in. I believe strongly that they should have every right to maintain their hope and faith that one of these "sightings" will miraculously be the one that brings Caylee home to them. What parent or grandparent would surrender such hope? Who is one person to tell another parent or grandparent when it is time for them to abandon their faith? When does a stranger have the right to judge another who has endured such a loss? The attacks made against them by some are deplorable. Let them be to do what they feel they must to find their beloved granddaughter, Caylee. Knowing this case as well as probably anyone on earth, there is no doubt that they do not know where Caylee is. Allow them to walk their own path.
I only agreed to represent George and Cindy Anthony, so long as there were no restrictions placed on me whatsoever as to finding Caylee, regardless of where this might lead. Quite simply, this meant that I could do whatever I needed to find Caylee whether she was alive or not. It impressed me that George and Cindy, both believing that Caylee was still with us, had an overriding and primary concern in finding Caylee, even if the result was not as they would hope. The other condition I required was that I would have absolutely nothing to do with representing Casey or assisting in her legal defense.
Abundant efforts have been made towards finding Caylee. I have worked with so many involved in this matter towards the goal of finding this dear, missing child who has captured the hearts of so many. Some ignorant and judgmental members of the public though have made hateful and inaccurate accusations against me and others, when they had no idea whatsoever what was really going on. As my new, good friend, Tim Miller from Equusearch, tells me "everybody associated with this case gets body slammed." However, like Tim, when you know in your heart that you're doing the right thing, you just move forward knowing that right will ultimately win out. Some have falsely accused me and some others of being in this for the money. If they only knew how utterly wrong and misguided they are.
I had come to a personal opinion and theory for quite some time whether Caylee was still with us or not. However, my opinion was only one like any other…an opinion. The only person without an opinion though is Casey Anthony as only she knows the truth. I believe that the singular person out of the 6 billion people in the world who holds the key to finding Caylee is her mother, Casey Anthony. Although I was quite successful in resolving a multitude of matters, I am unable to go further to help George and Cindy find Caylee in my current role. I can only provide my best advice and must respect any client's prerogative to do what they deem is best, whether they choose to follow my guidance or not. However, there is little value or use I can provide to any client if they choose to act and comment at will.
As someone who has learned and knows the inner workings and details of the case and its various characters intimately, the rampant sensationalism and unfounded accusations must stop. Allow Cindy and George Anthony the respect and decency of dealing with their hope and efforts to find their missing and beloved Caylee as they need to. Allow those with differing opinions on finding and searching for Caylee, whether she is with us or not, to do their jobs without interruption. Finally, the judicial system is in play and justice will be best served by mindless meddlers staying out of something they know little of. There are many wonderful people involved in efforts to find Caylee and there are, unfortunately, many who are exploiting this child. Sadly, most in the public are clueless about who is doing what and what is really going on. The negative actions of some are only counterproductive and hurtful to the cause of those many good people who are doing so much to do something positive with this most sad and tragic situation. There should only be one goal and that is to find Caylee Marie Anthony.
Mark E. NeJame
I wholeheartedly agree with the last sentence in his statement. "There should only be one goal and that is to find Caylee Marie Anthony." Somewhere along the line, this whole case has lost the focus on Caylee. Somewhere along the line it shifted to Casey and her defense. Although, some of the focus does need to be shining on her, since she is the only one who can solve this, the main part of the case should have been finding that little girl.
In my own opinion, I don't think that little girl will ever be found. I do not believe she is with "kidnappers". I believe that something happened back in June, perhaps an accident, perhaps a temper tantrum by Casey, and Caylee had to be "hidden" so Casey could continue with the life she wanted.
Now that Mark Nejame has quit, one has to wonder what will happen with this "press conference" that Cindy, George and the Kidfinder people have been touting. It was supposed to have happened on Monday, then got postponed til later in the week so that Mark Nejame could get back into town, and then it was announced that it would happen tomorrow, Friday. Well, Mr. Nejame is off the "team" now, so will the presser go on tomorrow? I know everyone else must be as curious as I am as to what this so called proof of Caylee's being alive is. My hunch is that it is just more of these "tips" that Cindy goes on and on about.
We shall see, eh?
And the Circus Goes On and On.....
As usual, the case of the missing child, Caylee Anthony is still in the news. We have more players in the circus again, too. Henry Lee has signed on to the defense. Yes, the ketchup spitting, evidence losing forensics "expert" is going to try to help redeem Casey Anthony. More about all that later.
First though, the other day one of the posters on the Caylee Anthony section of the InSessions message board made an excellent post and I jokingly told her that I was tempted to ask permission to repost what she said here on my blog. Later, she gave her permission and asked for a "disclaimer" to be added. Here's the original post (with some minor editing for spelling and such):
The fact that nobody's seen Caylee since mid June, the fact that Casey didn't call the LE and report Caylee kidnapped, the fact she partied and nobody saw her shed a tear or even look a tiny bit worried, and the fact that she told the LE lie upon lie upon lie when they wanted to fnd Caylee after Cindy reported her missing, go a long way to proving to me that Caylee is dead and Casey murdered her. jmo
Thats about it. Cindy utilizing 'public awareness organizations' to put the 'word out' that Caylee is missing, is well, to be blunt, BOGUS.
And the public knows it.
Hence, the reason there has been no outpouring of community assistance. all one has to do is go back a bit and view some videos of George and his t-shirts, setting up a mobile booth out of his car....there is at most ONE person helping him.
That's the reality of the community's mindset. why buy a t-shirt that their own daughter knotted at the waist so the "notify number" isnt readable...that's the first clue.
Having a child "missing" and maintaining a sense of fashion while wearing sunglasses she obtained thru fraud, AND being arrested the first time around with the sweatshirt she obtained thru fraud...
.....Its jaw dropping. And here are her parents, the lawyers championing her. they view the public as uninformed idiots.
Caylee is deceased. The Anthonys are not being taken advantaged of by Kidfinders or anyone else. They are using these resources to keep up appearances prior to the trial.
*Damn dead body in the car* statement, she thinks she can smooth over that statement with her new and approved "she's alive" grandstanding....
Too may words have been spoken by the Anthonys and forever preserved.... So many....
However, Casey's jailhouse calls are the most important. Her mother Cindy might have outdid herself in volume of interviews, but Casey's jailhouse calls, however brief and few, give the most panoramic view of her souless being.
Pru
And, here's Pru's request for the disclaimer along with a quote of my post about me putting her post on this blog:
Thank you! You have my permission.... Can you put a little disclaimer like the Anthonys have on their site? Something like "Copyright 2008 IMO" lol
Seriously, though, stepping back in time here, its incredulous of the Anthonys to have gone beyond giving more than ONE interview....given the circumstances...her daughter living her life as if nothing has occurred out of the ordinary and never reporting caylee ABDUCTED. For a good abduction story: she could have done that the day after she killed her....made up a story...lost her in the park, whatever....
But alas, that is what psychopaths do....rather dont do.....they just dont care, close their eyes and go on with life.
I've about had my full with the word "missing". If the story is to be told properly by the Anthonys, she is a victim of kidnapping. however, they continue to peddle their story with the word missing.
Why arent they printing up t-shirts and bracelets that say KIDNAPPED? and why arent they prefacing their pressers with the word KIDNAPPED?
IMO
best regards,
Pru
Pru has a really good point there. The Anthony family, Casey, George, Lee and Casey are trying their best to convince the world that Caylee is alive, Caylee was kidnapped by an nanny that no one other than Casey has seen, and that the investigators are mistaken about the smell of decomposition in Casey's car. If, and that is a big "IF", Caylee was actually kidnapped by this nanny, the natural question then is why can't we (meaning the investigators on the case) find this Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez? Or even some kind of record that she exists?
Apparently, according to all I've read, there are quite a few Zenaida Gonzalez's in Florida. But, there was only one Zenaida Gonzalez that was associated in any way with the Sawgrass Apartments where Casey says she dropped Caylee off with the nanny. That Zenaida Gonzalez visited that apartment complex and toured the units as a prospective tenant. She filled out a "visitor's card" at that complex. And now, due to the notariety of this case, the woman has lost her job and is unable to find another one because of her name. Because Casey told the investigators that Zenaida Gonzalez was a kidnapper/child stealer. And Casey's mother, Cindy, has perpetuated that story in front of so many news reporters.
Zenaida Gonzalez has retained an attorney, John Morgan, and filed a defamation lawsuit against Casey Anthony. Casey and her attorney, Jose Baez filed a countersuit. Mr. Morgan told WESH 2 News that the countersuit obligates Casey Anthony to give a deposition or drop the suit. I have a feeling that Jose Baez has made a major mistake by filing the countersuit. A deposition of Casey Anthony done for this civil lawsuit can be used against her during the murder trial. John Morgan is planning on trying to depose Casey in jail. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will Baez and Casey drop the countersuit before a deposition can take place? (Geez.. This sounds like one of those things from a soap opera!)
Meanwhile, back to Dr. Henry Lee. Henry Lee has examined the car and the evidence that has been taken from the car. On the Nancy Grace show last night, Lee stated that the car still smells bad. But, he is saying that the smell is not from human decomposition. He says it's a "rotten smell" caused by "any type of decomposition". Here is a snippet of the transcription of last night's show:
GRACE: I know. I`ve been missing you, Dr. Lee. It`s nice to hear your voice. So did the car still stink to high heaven when you examined it?
LEE: Yes, when I examine the car, it still have the odor.
GRACE: Now, Dr. Lee, your testimony has been extremely impressive in the past. No one will ever forget the various demonstrations that you have done in high-profile court cases. When you say it smelled, is it true the car smells of decomposition?
LEE: The smell -- actually, it`s a rotten smell. It`s caused by any type of decomposition. The definition of decomposition, anything. It can be any food material. Can be human body. Can be any type of thing, decomposition. So the terms decomposed, human body odor, I don`t think any scientist can qualify to say -- just smell the odor, say that`s a human body.
GRACE: Well, Dr. Henry Lee -- everyone, with us, he is on the Anthony defense team -- I know that you have the highest regard for the Oak Ridge Laboratories in Tennessee. I trained there myself for a period of time. According to them, and their -- their specialty unit, the "body farm," there was evidence of human decomposition. Would that be consistent with the smell that you smelled, Dr. Henry Lee?
LEE: Here, that`s -- you know, I`m a scientist. I only can address some scientific issue. I cannot speculate. Decomposition, because the trunk -- don`t forget, I looked at not only the car. Also looked at the liner, the carpet. Also looked at the content of the material. And I don`t know anybody informed me or not -- there are a lot of garbage was collected. A lot of material was collected from the trunk.
GRACE: Like what?
LEE: Like what? Like food, like meat, like pizza box, like cheese, like ham, box (ph) of soda, and all different material in there. So basically, a lot of maggots and a lot of insects, all kind of material mixed together. So I cannot really elaborate too much on what I found because this is an active case. I cannot really reach a conclusion at this moment.
Of course he can't "reach a conclusion" or even speak about it on TV. So why the hell was he on Nancy Grace last night? And why did he say this:
LEE: OK. Nancy, I look at the whole car. Then I examine the liner, the carpet, the content of the car. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the Orange sheriff department, the crime scene investigator and detective. They`re true professionals. So the whole examination took a whole day and very professional manner. We did find some additional evidence, which was collected and handed to the sheriff`s department.
Lee found additional evidence? Oh man.. Echoes of the Phil Spector case last year when Henry Lee allegedly found a fingernail and then lost it instead of turning it over to the investigators for that case! If he found something this time and turned it over to the investators, perhaps he learned something last year. During the Phil Spector case, Henry Lee was supposed to be one of the "experts" testifying for the defense, but Lee managed to make himself unavailable for testimony by going overseas and not coming back until after the mistrial had been declared. Supposedly, Henry Lee is going back overseas soon to accept some kind of award (Oh no, another echo!) and I have to wonder if he's planning on staying a while again. No comment from me on the list of things that Henry Lee says was in the trunk of that car.. lol.. Frozen food boxes???? (The full transcript of the show is available at this link.)
And rumor has it that there will be more documents relating to the case being released soon. I have never followed a case such as this one where so many documents have been released to the public before a trial!
The search for Caylee goes on, apparently. The media says that divers are in the water at Jay Blanchard park again today, however Leonard Padilla, the man who got the divers there in the first place, isn't with them. He is back in California and apparently is waiting to take a polygraph test about how those items they found last week got into the river.
Then we have the new news about this organization that George and Cindy have been depending on for help in finding their granddaughter. Kid Finders Network. WFTV in Orlando has been looking into the background of the organization and the people who run it. Dennis Milstead, who heads up the organization, apparently has quite the criminal background. And the reporters who are looking into the organization have found out that they have never found a missing child! WFTV's reporter, Kathi Belich went to see Dennis Mistead and tried to talk to him about that criminal background. Milstead got physical with Kathi and her cameraman. Click HERE to watch the confrontation. And this is the guy who George and Cindy trust? Scary.
Well, I'm going to end this post for now... And of course, I'll add a picture from the ICanHazCheezburger site... And it's not a cat! lol
Family Visits, Travels and The News
Family Visits and Travels
I wonder, has anyone missed my posts on here? For the last couple of weeks I was busy with family. My brother, Ted, flew out from Virginia two weeks ago today and we had a grand time visiting and traveling and visiting some more until he left this past Monday. The day after he arrived, we headed up to Oregon for a visit with my Dad and Stepmom. We got an early start, he picked me up while it was still dark and then we picked up my other brother Gene and headed up the highway. As you can see from the photo below, we saw the sun rise over the Sutter Buttes as we drove up the highway towards Oregon. The clouds and such made for a nice photo of the buttes in the distance.
My brothers and I were having a lot of fun talking and getting "caught up" as we went up I5. A few miles up the road, Ted made a comment about seeing flashing lights periodically in the rear view mirror for the last few miles. There was a big-rig traveling along in the fast lane with the flashing lights peeking out on one side or the other. So Ted moved us into the slow lane and the big-rig caught up to us pretty fast with a Highway Patrolman right on his tail with lights and siren going. Now we were doing about 75 or so and this truck passed us by like we were almost standing still! Then, up ahead we could see another Highway Patrol car coming down an onramp with his lights flashing, and I suppose his siren was going as well. The truck driver "gave up" and pulled over to the slow lane and then onto the shoulder. The two patrol cars didn't stop behind him, they pulled clear off the road and onto the dirt alongside the truck even with the cab of the truck. We just kept going and have no idea what the outcome of that trucker's fate, but it made for some "interesting" comments between the three of us for a while. Ted is a trucker on the east coast, owning and operating his own rig, and me being a former trucker a few years back, we had a few ideas on what might have happened to the driver. For one, the speed limit for trucks in California is 55mph. That guy had to be doing 80-85mph and that is considered "reckless driving" for a truck. We speculated that the guy might have gotten a ride in the back seat of one of the patrol cars and the rig got towed until he managed to get his "ticket". For another thing, Ted was seeing those lights flashing behind that truck for at least 10 miles or so. What charges would the Highway Patrol tack on for that? Oh well, that trucker at the very least got a really steep fine and I'll bet he stays out of California for a while.
Remember the photos I posted last month of Mount Shasta with no snow on the top? Well, we had a weather change for a few days while Ted was here. We couldn't even see the top of Shasta as we drove to Oregon this time! The clouds were completely covering the summit.
I'll add a picture from the trip home a few days later so you can see Mount Shasta with snow on the top again. The snow was "thin", but it looked more like the Mount Shasta we normally see instead of the bare, dry mountain we saw last month.
Anyway, we had a great time up at my Dad's. Our step-sister came down from Vancouver, Washington and the four of us along with my Dad and Step-mom had a lot of fun reminiscing and getting caught up. It rained for most of the visit, but that didn't matter, we spent most of the time sitting around the kitchen table talking, drinking coffee and playing dominoes or cards.
After coming home on Monday, we had a day to unpack and rest up, then on Wednesday my Mom, Step-Dad, brother and I went over to the Coast Guard Station at Petaluma for a couple days. We took a couple scenic drives, one over on the coast (With a stop at Bodega Bay to get some souvenirs that had references to the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" for Ted to take home to Virginia.) and then on our way back home the next day, we took a back roads route to Clear Lake just for the scenery.
Hmm.. I guess I should shut up about the travels and the family visit for now, huh? Anyway, Ted flew home to Virginia on Monday and the rest of us went back to our "normal" lives. Maybe I'll post more about some of the other stuff that we did during Ted's visit this year. Maybe I'll post another day about the old photos that my brothers and I sorted through. Maybe I'll post another day about the family tree information that I have borrowed from my Step-mom that shows that a couple of our ancestors came over on the Mayflower. Maybe.
The News
Since it's been all over the news the past few days, I am guessing that most everyone reading this blog knows that Casey Anthony was indicted for 1st degree murder among other things on Tuesday. She was arrested after some hinky car switching by her from her mother, Cindy's car to a bail bondsman's car under an over pass (What was up with that stunt? Were they trying to be sneaky or what?) and now sits in a jail cell with no bond. No more revolving door at the jail for Casey. And she still won't give up any truthful information about the whereabouts of her daughter, Caylee. All we get from her, her family or the lawyers is that we will all "understand" her actions once the truth is told at trial.
Hey, Casey? Why wait for the trial if you are so "innocent"? If what you did with that child is so "understandable", why wait? Tell the truth now and let that poor child be found! Casey's family and her lawyer are still saying that Caylee is alive out there somewhere. My question to them is "Who was the dead body in the trunk of Casey's car if it wasn't Caylee?" How can anyone understand the lies and mistruths that have come from Casey and her family? How can leading the investigators on a wild goose chase be "understood"? How can staying silent about a missing child for 31 days and going out partying and shopping be "understood"?
And Mr. Baez. Hmm.. What can I say about him? Well, from what I am hearing and reading on the news, Mr. Baez isn't qualified to defend a 1st degree murder case. He hasn't been practicing long enough and has never even sat second-chair on a murder case. Who is going to be first-chair for Casey's defense when this comes to trial? And I have no doubts, Casey will be sitting in a courtroom defending her actions even if somehow a miracle happens and Caylee does come home alive. There are still the financial charges, the child neglect charges and the charges of her lying to the investigators. They can't dispute the financial charges, the checks with the forged signatures are there, the store and bank videos are there showing Casey spending the money she stole from her former friend Amy. The child neglect charges will also be hard for them to defend against as well. Didn't Casey keep her daughter's disappearance secret for 31 days before her mother, Cindy, caught on and called 911?
Geez.. I have so many questions I would like to ask Casey, Cindy, George and Lee and I know that I'll never get answers to a lot of them. Right now, my big question is how the heck they think I am going to "understand" what Casey did. I can't think of a single scenario that would make me or any of my children hide the truth of a 3 year old child's disappearance. Not for 31 days. Not even for one day.
Caylee Anthony ~ 105 Days & Counting
It's getting increasingly hard to post about Caylee Anthony and her family. There is so much information coming out into the public's eyes right now it's mind-boggling. Interviews with family and friends, both in transcripts and in video and audio recordings. I've read most of the documents and listened or watched the recordings. I honestly can't think of a thing to say that hasn't already been written and re-written on a thousand or so websites, both news sites and on blogs. If you want to read, listen or watch the statements and interviews, there are a number of websites that have the entire list of them available for download. Two that I use are the Criminal Report Daily on the Investigation Discovery website and a Wordpress blog called Caylee Anthony. Then we have the message boards that are all over the net. InSessions and Websleuths are just two of many that have whole sections of their boards dedicated to following the Anthony Family Circus.
I was reading on a couple of the boards this morning and the big "buzz" on the message boards is that Casey Anthony, poor little Caylee's mother, has been very active on Facebook. She's apparently started a "blog" of sorts on her Facebook page. Now, I have a Facebook account but I have not searched her out to add as a "friend", but apparently others have and the posts that Casey is making on her page have been publicized on the boards. One of the posts is all about Nancy Grace and it's not complimentary. But, it's not in Casey Anthony's own words. She went to Wikipedia and copied and pasted part of the section about Nancy Grace's Career as a prosecutor. I guess Casey hasn't the skills to write what she feels about Nancy Grace and the coverage that her missing daughter is getting on the show. (Check out the Caylee Anthony blog, they've got the texts posted there.) I guess since Casey is confined to her parent's home and isn't able to "visiting" her friends or go out dancing at Fusion she's having her fun online, in chatrooms and on Facebook. I have to wonder what her lawyer has told her about her internet wanderings.
Cindy's interview with the investigators was aggravating to watch and listen to. Especially when she started trying to steer the investigators towards Jesse Grund. In her opinion at that time, Jesse or someone associated with him had Caylee. Strange that Jesse has been very cooperative with the investigation and has even passed a lie detector test, isn't it, Cindy? What can I say about George's interview? Ugh. I am so tired of listening to the Anthony family now. I just hope that the investigators can make some sense out of it all, because I am sure getting confused. There are way too many lies and "half-truths" coming from the whole family. Casey first, then Cindy, George and Lee. Liars all. And they told the "stories" to the investigators. Cindy, George and Lee have their priorities set. Casey's defense first, then comes the search for Caylee.
Blah. I just don't know what to say about this whole dysfunctional family. Oh wait. I do have something to say: "Where is Caylee?"
Other Stuff
In the next few days, my brother will arrive from Virginia for a visit. So my time will be spent with my family. Perhaps I'll even have a few more photos to post since both my brothers and I will be going back up to Oregon to visit my Dad and Stepmom. I am so glad that my family doesn't even faintly resemble the Anthony's!
23 Cents vs a Baseball Bat?
Last night, the Anthony family had more problems with "protesters". And this time, I use the word "protesters" in the broadest sense of the word. There were a half a dozen or so young adults at the house around 1:30 in the morning and apparently had been yelling, throwing things at the house and banging on the garage door. So, Cindy called 911. Here's the transcript of the call:
Cindy: The protesters are throwing things at my house. They’re throwing rocks at my home. They’re hitting the windows of my house and they’re in my yard. I want an officer out there right away. Please…before my husband goes out and something happens.
Operator: How many people are out there do you know?
Cindy: Umm from the surveillance, there’s at least half a dozen or more.
Operator: OK. And they’re throwing rocks at the house.
Cindy: Yes ma’am.
Operator: OK, has anything gone through a window or anything?
Cindy: Not yet. But it’s real close. My husband’s about ready to go outside, and I’m trying keep him inside.
Operator: Ask him to stay inside.
Cindy: I’m trying honey. I really am.
Operator: OK.
Cindy: Thank you dear. Bye.
Operator: Bye-bye.
Well, George and Cindy didn't stay inside. George went outside, and Cindy was right behind him armed with a baseball bat. Check out the video:
As you can see in the video, the cops did show up and of course, the rowdy group had left by the time they arrived. Apparently sometime during this altercation and the one later, Casey managed to call 911 as well. (Sorry, I don' t have a transcript for that call, but you can listen to it here: Disturbance 9-1-1 Call.) Anyway, the idiots were there at the house, and this video shows George hosing them down with Cindy standing by his side with a baseball bat in her hands:
Why on earth didn't they stay inside, the way the 911 operator said? Why did they have to open that garage door and go outside? Armed with a baseball bat?
Now, for the 23 cents I mentioned in the title, read the police report:
On September 18, 2008 I responded to 4937 Hopespring Drive in the Chickasaw Park Subdivision in reference to a suspicious incident.
Upon arrival I made contact with the victim/reporter, Cynthia M. Anthony, who advised of the following: At approximately 0010 hours on September 18, 2008, Cynthia heard noises coming from the front area of her home.
It sounded like rocks were hitting the front bedroom window and the garage door. Cynthia advised she observed via her surveillance camera, a large group of people (approximately 14 people) standing in the middle of her front yard. Cynthia advised she could not describe or identify anyone from the surveillance video because it was to dark. Cynthia then called 911.
I did an area check around the residence and found four coins around the front window (three pennies & one dime) and two coins in front of the garage (two nickels). It appeared the suspects (demonstrator) threw coins at Cynthia's home.
Coins were submitted into OCSO evidence.
23 Cents was apparently thrown at the home and for that, Cindy picks up the baseball bat and George grabs the hose. Honestly. In both of the 911 calls, first from Cindy and then from Casey, they refer to these idiots in their front yard as "protesters". In my opinion, those weren't protesters. They were a bunch of young adults who'd probably fortified themselves with liquid courage and then decided to go "have some fun" by baiting the Anthony's. I truly feel sorry for the neighbors around the Anthony home. One more thing, Cindy says a dozen or more, or 14 "protesters" in the police report, but in the video I only counted about 6 or so? Was she seeing double or were some of them "invisible" like the nanny?
And then this morning, George actually spoke to the media outside his home. Not blaming them for "destroying his family" this time, but to ask all of Central Florida for help in prosecuting the idiots from last night. Hey George! Why didn't you include a plea for the public to help find your missing granddaughter?
Oh yeah. The search for Caylee. Cindy went to a Spanish speaking TV station yesterday and taped an interview so that it can be broadcast in Puerto Rico. I'm still trying to figure out why she thinks Caylee is alive and well in Puerto Rico. Or Texas. Or Mexico. Or New York. Or wherever else she has said... Cindy, the key to finding Caylee is sitting in your house. Ask Casey where she really left Caylee. Was it the Sawgrass apartments or was it at Jay Blanchard Park? Or was it somewhere else?
This is becoming less like a circus and more like a very bad soap opera every day. Hey "Protesters"!
Go Home!
Update:
Thanks to Channel 13 in Orlando, here is the transcript of Casey's call to the police last night:
Casey: Yes, there are protesters still in the front of our home. We already called about an hour and a half ago. It took over 30 minutes for the officers to get here. The protesters are now banging on our garage door. They’ve still been throwing things at our windows and our garage. And now the media’s here. My father’s going outside and there’s going to be a fight, so please can you send people down here because there’s now a physical altercation. You need to send vehicles immediately.
Operator: It’s getting physical?
Casey: Yes, it’s getting physical right now.
Operator: Do you see them physically fighting?
Casey: Yes, I see them physically fighting. We have surveillance.
Operator: OK do you see any weapons?
Casey: I don’t know if there’s any weapons. I know that my father’s outside and so is my mother, so please send as many people as you possibly can.
Operator: And who is this?
Casey: Inaudible
Operator: Just one second OK?
Casey: They need to be arrested because this can’t keep happening. We already had six or seven officers out here for 45 minutes and they didn’t do anything. And these are the same punks that were out here all night throwing stuff at our house.
Operator: OK, stay on the line with me OK?
Casey: I absolutely will, but they need to hurry up. They just left not that long ago.
Operator: The police officers left?
Casey: The police officers just left about 1 o’clock. Yeah.
Operator: OK. Stay on the line.
Casey: And a media van just pulled up and that’s when all this started happening.
Operator: I’m going to connect with my dispatcher, OK don’t hang up.
Casey: Ok, Thank you.
Operator: About how many people are out there?
Casey: There’s at least a dozen people. And now two media vans. And there’s actually more people walking from across the street.
Operator: How many people are involved in the altercation?
Casey to someone in background: I already did. I already did.
Casey: Channel 2 News has everything on tape already.
Operator: Ok. How many people are involved in the altercation?
Casey: There’s at least a dozen people. My mom’s out there now spraying people with the hose, or my father is. They’re trying to get them off the property. They’re also trespassing on the property…
Operator: Is it still happening?
Casey: they’re still standing on the property, yes. They’re out there recording it.
Operator: So what about the physical altercation, is it over?
Casey: it’s already over. Yes. That’s when my father…
2nd Operator: OK, so it’s no longer physical?
Casey: It’s no longer physical, but it was already physical when…
2nd Operator: Is this a protester or is this a resident?
Casey: It’s the protesters.
2nd Operator: No, I’m saying who are you?
Casey: I’m the resident. We have everything on tape thanks to Channel 2 and also our home surveillance.
2nd Operator: Was there any weapons involved?
Casey: Not that I can see, no.
2nd Operator: Are both your parents outside?
Casey: both my parents are outside, yes.
2nd Operator: Have they separated or is it still verbal?
Casey: it’s still verbal. And there’s still at least a dozen people on our property. My mom’s bringing my dad inside, so at least my parents aren’t outside, but this needs to get taken care of immediately.
Operator: Are they inside now?
Casey: Yes. My parents are inside right now.
Casey to someone in background: What happened?
Casey: Both of my parents were hit by two of the protesters. As you heard from both of my parents channel 2 has it on video. Excellent. So can we get people out here immediately?
Operator: There’s someone on the way. I just need you to stay on the line OK?
Casey: I’ll stay on the line until somebody comes, no problem.
2nd Operator: OK, we have several units on the way.
Casey: Ok, thank you.
2nd Operator: Just stay on the phone with us.
Casey: One of the vehicles just left.
Casey to someone in background: So white Expedition. You have the tag of who just left. You already have the tag information. Yes the guys just left. They just got in the car and left.
Casey: My mom went outside and got the tag information for the vehicle that had been out in front of our house for at least the last three and a half hours.
Operator: OK, and was those the people that had been involved in the physical?
Casey: Yes, they were the people that were involved in the physical altercation. We have the make and model of the vehicle and also the tag number.
Operator: OK, the make and model was?
Casey: It was a white Ford Expedition.
Operator: OK. Was it a Florida Tag?
Casey: Yes, it was a Florida tag.
Operator: Ok and what’s that number?
Casey: Hold on for just one second.
Operator: She’s still on the line, they’re, both parents are inside.
2nd Operator: Oh, they’re inside the house now?
Operator: Hmmmhmm. Yep.
The Never-Ending Anthony Circus
Well, Casey Anthony is back out of jail and home again. She walked out of the Orange County Jail hand in hand with her attorney Jose Baez yesterday afternoon. Someone posted the new bail shortly after court yesterday morning and Casey got fitted for her ankle bracelet soon afterwards. With the body guards and Baez surrounding her, she strolled down the walk to the big red pickup truck that was waiting to take her back home. I'm guessing that the pickup truck belongs to one of the body guards since it hadn't been seen at the house previously. With the frequency of Casey's arrests, how soon will she have a 4th mugshot to add to her collection?
With Casey back home, it seems that the tempers are rising again in that house. George Anthony came out this morning and ranted at the media since there weren't any protesters available as targets. George seems to think that the media is at fault for destroying his family. Or at least that is what he yelled at Mark Boyle, a reporter for WFTV in Orlando. (Follow the WFTV link and there's even a video you can watch of George's rant this morning.) My question to the Anthony's is this: Why is it you folks always have a hammer in your hands when you start yelling at people? Do you think it makes you more believable or something? Hey, I'm sorry, but if I happened to be in your neighborhood and you guys came at me with a hammer in your hand, I'd be on the phone to 911 in a heartbeat reporting your threatening behavior! Maybe the three of you could have matching ankle jewelry!
Hmm.. Three Anthony's. George, Cindy and Casey. Are those the three that Cindy told everyone about? The THREE people that Cindy says are searching for Caylee? Or maybe we can take Casey out of the equation and insert Lee. Yeah. That's it. The three people "searching" for Caylee are George, Cindy and Lee Anthony. And since it's been over 3 months now since Caylee disappeared, we can see how effective their search efforts are. They still have the ONE person who can answer questions sitting there in their home with them. And Caylee is still out there somewhere. Why?
Cindy has been pretty quiet since the confrontation with the woman the other night who's boy got hurt when his arm got caught in the car door, but I'm sure we'll see or hear from her again soon. From what has been posted on the WebSleuth's website, Cindy has stated her intentions of trying to close down websites that speak bad about her daughter, Casey. In a phone conversation with the moderator of the WebSleuth's forum, Cindy stated that she "hadn't checked out" the forum but if I remember correctly, the lady who went through the Anthony's trash found printouts from the WebSleuth's forums. So, apparently someone in that house is reading what is posted there. As for Cindy's aim of getting websites closed down for speaking bad about her daughter, Casey; Good luck Cindy.. You're stepping on a very slippery slope there. Ever hear of the constitution and Free Speech?
There are questions floating around about money now as well. And not just the questions about who is paying for the body guards, who's posting Casey's bail each time and who is paying for attorney's. I've seen some speculation about the "trust fund" account that was set up for the search for Caylee a couple months ago having been closed out. If that is true, it would be interesting to see where the money went that had been donated for the search for that little girl. Is it in Casey's "defense fund" now? Then we have the opportunists who are climbing on the bandwagon hoping to get some money in their own pockets by using Caylee's disappearance. Like the eBay seller, "duchessofcinch" who had auctions up for lavender rubber bracelets with "HelpFindCaylee.com" on them for $10.00 each. In the auction description, the seller said nothing about where the $10.00 a piece for those bracelets was going. Into the seller's pocket, I suppose. The ad only said to go to the website and print out flyers and such. A number of message board posters complained to eBay about the auction and eBay closed the auction. I wonder what money making scheme will come to light next that uses Caylee's disappearance for profit.
Bah. I'm done with the Anthony's today. There is just so much in the news about them that just turns my stomach. Later!
Back to Jail for Casey Anthony
Shortly before 3pm Orlando time this afternoon, Casey surrendered to authorities at the Orange County Jail. She is charged with uttering a forged check, criminal use of personal identification and petty theft of $100 or more, jail records show. She'll see a judge about it tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and see what bail gets set this time. Her attorney, Jose Baez arrived at today's meeting with the home confinement officer and was with her when she surrendered to authorities. I would imagine she'll have bail posted and be out again tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning at the latest. I wonder if all this bail money are the funds that George and Cindy have solicited for the search for Caylee. I'd say that Casey looks a bit haggard in this newest mugshot and not at all happy to be going back to jail for the 3rd time.
WFTV in Orlando has a slideshow up of photos of Casey's most recent arrest here. Could someone please tell me why she is wearing rosary beads?
Last night (Sunday evening), the Anthony family held their weekly vigil, although at this point I'm not sure if the vigil is for Caylee or if it's for Casey. Reportedly Cindy spoke out at the beginning of the "gathering" and told everyone that if they didn't support Casey, they were in the wrong place. Uhm. Excuse me, Cindy? When did the vigils for Caylee get turned in to vigils for your daughter, Casey? Is Caylee getting lost in the shuffle with your defense of the last person to see your granddaughter?
On Saturday night, Cindy was out in her yard close to midnight hammering her no trespassing signs into the ground again. And, naturally, there were still "protesters" there outside the home. And, of course, Cindy got into a shouting match with one of them. This one turned pretty ugly. It wasn't even on the Anthony property, it was out in the middle of the street! Cindy charged across the street screaming at the woman who was getting in her car with her kids. During the screaming match, a young tatooed man restrained the woman and pushed her towards the car, and in the process closing the back door where a child had his arm in the way. The little boy fell to the ground screaming and Cindy and the mother pretty much ignored the kid. I don't have a lot of sympathy for the woman or her kid in this one, since the woman had the child out so late and the child was screaming obscenities at Cindy along with his mom. But why on earth can't Cindy ignore these people? It seems like the only reason these people are there is to get a "rise" out of Cindy, George or Lee. Do they honestly believe that standing out in front of that house screaming and carrying signs is going to make Casey tell where Caylee is?
During that altercation with the woman and her kid, Cindy made a statement about the searches for Caylee. She screamed at the woman that there are people searching for the child. Three of them. Wow. A whole 3 people are searching for Caylee now according to Cindy. Last week there were a couple thousand people searching. Oh yeah, Cindy doesn't want searches to happen in Orlando, so those don't count. **sigh**
Then we have an incident with Lee vs. the Protesters. He arrived at the Anthony family home, and yes, there where protesters on the sidewalk and some were close to the driveway. Reportedly one woman holding a baby was nearly hit by Lee's car. It's honestly getting scary out there in that neighborhood. With the bad tempers that the Anthony family has demonstrated, those protesters are pretty much asking for someone to get hurt. Whether it's Cindy with her hammer, Lee with his car or George with his pushing/swinging at people, someone is going to get hurt.
I support anyone's right to protest or demonstrate. After all, it's our constitutional right. But when these protesters endanger children or push things so far just to get a reaction, it's time to step back and look at what they are doing and maybe think twice before going out there. Sure, go out and protest, but leave the children at home. Leave the dogs at home. Carry your sign, but do so civilly. Have a little consideration for the neighbors of the Anthony family. Those folks aren't involved in what Casey has done, nor are they involved in the disappearance of Caylee. Give them a little peace! Yelling and screaming at the top of your lungs late in the evening is only going to get the cops on the street, for crying out loud!
My advice to the Anthony family is to shut up, ignore the protesters and deal with finding your granddaughter, dead or alive. Deal with the evidence that has come out so far and stop denying everything or making excuses. I doubt if many people in the world believe your pizza story (among other things). Find some way of making Casey tell where Caylee is. Stop making this about defending Casey and put the spotlight back on Caylee. She is the one that is missing, remember?
