I didn't make the drive down to Tracy today for the memorial service.. But a few thousand others did show up at the high school in Tracy to say good by to "Tracy's Angel", Sandra Cantu. From what I've read on the news sites, people started lining up at the doors of the gymnasium at 6:30am this morning. I stayed home and watched the memorial on my TV. When they started playing the song "Somewhere out there", I had tears running down my cheek. That song has always choked me up a bit but today it wasn't just a bit. I cried for that beautiful little girl with the big smile. My heart goes out to all of Sandra's family and friends in this time of terrible grief.
Channel 10 in Sacramento has posted a video of the entire service. I tried embedding it to the page, but it doesn't work like the YouTube ones. It begins playing automatically. So, I've removed the embedded video and left the link.
Channel 30 (I'm not quite sure where they are) also has video up showing the service.
I can only hope that the authorities can put her murderer away for the rest of her life. The community of Tracy and all those who's hearts broke the day they found that suitcase need to have justice. Sandra's family need justice. And that is all I'm going to say... Today.

I live in Calif, and have been crying and weeping over her death for days....I randomly found your blog...she is an angel in Heaven now....this is so sad...
I'm glad you found the blog, Anonymous... She is Tracy's Angel now. The city has adopted her and gave her honor as if she were their own.
Anakerie,
Have you thought about attending this trial and blogging about it?
Be a voice for this innocent little girl?
I have thought about it.. But, even if the trial is held in Stockton, the distances involved and the lack of public transportation from where I am to where the trial may be held would be a huge road block for me. Even if I drove every day, it would be a minimum of a 2 hour drive every day, and that is assuming there would be no traffic. (Which isn't likely since the route would go through downtown Sacramento! LOL) That's a long commute and a lot of gasoline to buy.. lol
Oops.. The 2 hour drive I mentioned above would be 2 hours EACH WAY. So, it would be a minimum of 4 hours driving time each day, and probably more because of traffic....
What's with all the "LOL" (Laughing Out Loud)? This is a serious matter. Spare us the blah blah about your gasoline issues and 2 hours each way drive time yadda yadda, just simply say you can't attend.
To today's "anonymous" poster: Do you think I don't realize that this case is serious? Did you read any of the original posts about this case? Or did you just read the comments and get mad at me? Perhaps if my comments bother you, you're reading in the wrong place.. **sigh**
There were only 2 "lol's" typed into ONE of the comments. And that was in answer to a fellow blogger asking me about driving down to Stockton. If you have a problem with that, I'm sorry for you.
